Resumen
El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado trata sobre las funciones o competencias de los
directores escolares. Sabemos que de la importancia de su labor dependerá la buena
marcha del centro y repercutirá en los resultados escolares. Dentro de la responsabilidad
que ejerce un director escolar, sus funciones pretenden satisfacer expectativas y
demandas de la organización educativa, buscando lograr una continua mejora y un
servicio educativo de calidad.
Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de las funciones y/o competencias de la
dirección escolar relacionada a su actividad y capacidad. Estudiaremos las normas
legislativas para conocer las competencias propias de los directores a lo largo de la
historia. Se realizará una comparación entre los distintos modelos de dirección
existentes en Europa. Realizaremos una revisión de estudios empíricos para llegar a
unas conclusiones y plantear una propuesta de mejora que haga frente a los nuevos
retos del siglo XXI.

We will realize a review of empirical studies to come to a few conclusions and to raise an offer of improvement that it faces the new challenges of the 21st century.
