[EN]The objective of this systematic review is to study the possible therapeutic effects of the Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) in the cognitive, behavioral and emotional dysfunctions, and quality of life (QoL) levels in patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). In order to achieve it, an analysis of the publications has been done, following the criteria of the Prisma declaration. A research in Proquest and Scopus has been done, selecting six studies according with the inclusion criteria. A possible therapeutic effect has been found on the cognitive and behavioral dysfunctions, as well as in their QoL. The results are contradictory about the possible effects on the emotional dysfunctions. These results are limited by the sample of the sizes, the absence of a control group in the studies and the absence of a double-blind method to evaluate the results. More studies are necessary in order to better analyze this possible therapeutic effects.
