The present study analyses Tagus river banks woods around the city of Toledo in its different dimensions, considering also the current mating and breeding birdlife. Besides that point, there cannot be ignored the ecosystem services they contribute with. For this it was took into account, through the elaboration of polls, the perception that the neighbours and the tourists who visit the Tagus urban recreational area had. The following results show a quite altered and corrupted ecological state of the riverbanks forest and the associated birdlife, having made a lower assessment at the urban zones than at the peri-urban ones. In conclusion this proves the need of improving the state of such an important fluvial ecosystem through restoration measures that allow the population to get the most out of the different purposes the ecosystem can fulfill.
