The objective of this study is to analyze the emotional abilities, empathy and social desirability in aggressors convicted of gender violence; and their relationships. A battery of psychological tests has been administered to a group of aggressors convicted of gender violence (n = 53), aged between 23 and 70 years living in rural and urban settings. All had been sentenced to sentences of less than two years, which avoided going to prison, but the subjects have to participate in an emotional education program aimed at their rehabilitation. The beginning of the educational program, their emotional abilities (perception, assimilation and emotional regulation), empathy (cognitive and affective factors) and social desirability (handling of the impression and self-deception) have been evaluated. The existence of a correlation between the dimensions of the instruments and their evaluations has been determined, and the existence of statistically significant differences between the variables has been verified.
