This research project studies the relationship between Perceived Emotional Intelligence (PEI), General Psychological Health and Quality of Life in a sample of 90 subjects who belong to a sports club. Participants filled in the following scales: positive and negative affection scale PANAS; General Health Questionnaire Goldberg (GHQ-12); Perceived Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire TMMS-24; and Quality of Life Questionnaire SWLS. Correlation analyses show the relationships between the PEI components and the dimensions of the GHQ-12 and SWLS. Regression analyses show the 3 predictive capacity of the PEI related to the components of Psychological Health and Life Quality once controlled the positive and negative affection. In particular, one of the results was that 9% percent of the psychological Well-Being variance was explained by the dimensions of PEI, Attention in a negative sense and emotional clearing in a positive sense. The results and their implications are discussed in this report.
