Nonetheless, we cannot avoid the importance of communicative competence as the main objective of English language teaching, since this is seen as the lingua franca nowadays, and enable our students to communicate in any part of the world. Through authentic materials, such as music, films, or printed texts, learners have the opportunity to notice how native English speakers communicate, recognizing grammatical structures, vocabulary, and pronunciation, among other aspects.
