(EN) In this paper we have carried out a narrative review of scientific articles in different databases, with the main objective of explaining the main risk factors that may predispose adolescents to contract an Eating Disorder (ED). Adolescence is the stage of life when the first body image concerns emerge. It is not surprising then that this is the period when there is the highest incidence and prevalence of ED cases. Eating disorders are characterized by altered food intake behaviour and the emergence of extreme weight control behaviours. According to scientific evidence, the main risk factors for developing ED are divided into: physiological factors, social and cultural factors, family factors, individual factors, and finally Covid-19 has been added as a possible risk factor.
