Resumen
[ES] Como consecuencia de una reflexión sobre la internacionalización de la empresa familiar, desarrollado sobre investigaciones realizadas en un caso concreto: Cazalen S.L. Así, el objetivo consiste en profundizar en los factores que hacen que Cazalen no haya optado aún por salir al exterior y las posibilidades que tendría en el caso que quisiera emprender una estrategia de internacionalización. Para ello, se realiza previamente un análisis estratégico de la empresa. De este análisis se deduce que la empresa cuenta algunos recursos que podrían ayudarle a salir al exterior. Posteriormente, se realiza una revisión de los principales enfoques teóricos de la internacionalización, y se deduce que las razones que llevan a la empresa a operar sólo en ámbito nacional son fundamentalmente: desconocimiento de los instrumentos de apoyo que existen para internacionalizar empresas, incapacidad de los gerentes de ver más allá de su mercado oportunidades de negocio, y miedo a la correspondiente inversión inicial.
[EN] This work poses the result of a reflection process about internationalization in the familiar company, based on researches about the concrete case of Cazalen S.L. So, the main purpose of this work is that of deepening in the knowledge of the factors which explain why Cazalen has not developed internationalization strategies by making a previous strategic analysis of the company. Some resources which are important to expand its activity to external markets can be taken from this analysis. Later, a revision of the main theoretical approaches of internationalization will be developed. Some reasons which make a company works only in a national frame are: the fact of not being able to manage with support instruments which currently exist to internationalize a company; the inability suffered from the managers to appreciate some great opportunities of doing business beyond their current market, and that of fearing the parallel initial invention.
