La moneda digital: El bitcoin

Abstract

[ES]En el presente trabajo, nos centraremos en el estudio del bitcoin, un medio de pago, de reciente aparición, pero con vistas a cambiar el paradigma monetario. Revisaremos su nacimiento hasta ahora, para comprobar que se trata de una divisa totalmente descentralizada, al no ser controlada por ningún estado, banco, institución financiera o empresa. Trataremos de confrontar el funcionamiento de un sistema centralizado, el actual, con el propio que deriva del uso del bitcoin, el descentralizado. Analizaremos su calificación como moneda o no, la posibilidad de coexistir con la moneda fiduciaria actual, para lo cual, estudiaremos su funcionamiento, las posibles fluctuaciones del bitcoin, las aplicaciones, las ventajas e inconvenientes del mismo, etc. Finalmente podemos sacar conclusiones sobre si el bitcoin podría ser la moneda del futuro

[EN] In this project, we focus the analysis on the bitcoin, a new method of payment which has appeared recently but which is going to change the monetary paradigm. We will review the origin of it in order to check that it is a currency totally descentralized since it is not controlled by any state, bank, financial institucion or company. We will compare the current centralized system with the new descentralized system represented by the use of the bitcoin. We will analyse its clasification as currency and its compatibility with the fiduciary currency. All of this will be achieved by studying the way of working of the bitcoin, its possible fluctuations, applications, advantages and disadvantages, etc. Finally, we will reach conclusions about the possibility of bitcoin being the currency in the future.
