Fitoterapia y lactancia materna. Revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

[ES] Debido al actual incremento de la utilización de la fitoterapia en la lactancia y el desconocimiento existente relativo a esta terapia complementaria, nos hemos planteado identificar las plantas mas utilizadas en la lactancia y describir su eficacia y seguridad. Para ello hemos llevado a cabo una revisión narrativa-descriptiva de la literatura científica existente sobre el tema en las bases de datos como: PubMed, Scopus, Scielo, Lilacs ProQuest, Cuiden y Medline PoQuest. Los resultados obtenidos consisten en una relación de la fitoterapia más utilizada en la lactancia, especificando su uso, propiedades, efectos adversos y causa de indicación o contraindicación. Como conclusión podemo decir que se necesita de más investigación para confirmar la seguridad del consumo de la fitoterapia durante la lactancia.

[EN] Due to the current increased in the use of phytotherapy in breastfeeding and the misinformation about this complementary therapy, we have considered to identify the most plants most used in the lactation and to describe its efficacy and safety. For this we have carried out a narrative-descriptive review of the scientific literature that exists about this matter in the databases like: PubMed, Scopus, Scielo, Lilacs ProQuest, Cuiden y Medline PoQuest. The results obtained are a relation of the phytotherapy most used in lactation, specifying its use, its properties, its adverse effects and cause of indication or contraindication. In conclusion, we could say that it is necessary more investigation to confirm the safety of phytotherapy consumption during the lactation.
