THE ACQUISITION OF EFL STUDENTS´ ORAL SKILLS IN THE CLASSROOM AT AN A2 LEVEL

Abstract

[ES]El objetivo de este proyecto de investigación es estudiar la importancia que tienen las destrezas orales dentro del aula en el proceso de enseñanza para obtener un desarrollo adecuado de la segunda lengua o la lengua extranjera en relación con esas destrezas. La producción e interacción orales están entre las destrezas más difíciles del lenguaje al que los estudiantes tienen que enfrentarse en el proceso de aprendizaje. Por esta razón, los profesores deben proponer actividades útiles y efectivas para que los estudiantes tengan motivación y entusiasmo por aprender un idioma diferente a su lengua materna. Por lo que es necesario elegir las actividades correctas para este propósito y obtener mejores resultados en el aprendizaje. Este documento trata un estudio en el que se utilizan una serie de técnicas que muestran la dificultad que tienen los alumnos al comunicarse en un idioma extranjero y busca justificar por qué es importante promover y desarrollar actividades orales en el aula con el fin de amenizar el aprendizaje.

[EN]The goal of this research project is to study the importance that oral skills have inside the classroom in the teaching process in order to obtain an appropriate second or foreign language development related to these skills. Speaking is considered as one of the most difficult language skills that learners have to face in the learning process. For this reason, teachers should propose activities which are useful and effective in order for students to have motivation and enthusiasm to learn a different language from their mother tongue. So it is necessary to choose the right activities for this purpose and get better results in learning. This paper deals with a study in which a series of techniques that show the difficulty learners have when communicating in a foreign language are employed, and it aims to justify why it is important to promote and develop oral activities in the classroom with the purpose of enlivening learning.
