ONE DESTINATION, MULTIPLE PATHS. IMPLEMENTING MULTILEVEL INSTRUCTION APPROACH IN THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM.

Abstract

[ES] Este Trabajo de Fin de Máster tiene como objetivo investigar las características de la Instrucción Multinivel, así como tener en cuenta las metodologías y estrategias que favorecen la inclusividad en un grupo de estudiantes con diferentes niveles de habilidad. Además, este trabajo trata de diseñar la propuesta de una unidad didáctica para la asignatura de Inglés implementando el enfoque de la Instrucción Multinivel. De la misma manera, esta unidad didáctica titulada “Somos lo que comemos”, intenta potenciar el sentido crítico hacia los hábitos alimenticios de hoy en día a la misma vez que impulsa las habilidades lingüísticas. Esta unidad está dirigida a un grupo de alumnos en el cuarto curso de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria dentro del sistema educativo español.

[EN] This Master’s Thesis aims to examine the characteristics of Multilevel Instruction approach, as well as to consider some of the methodologies and strategies that favour inclusiveness within a group of students with different proficiency levels. Furthermore, this thesis attempts to design a proposal of a didactic unit for the English subject implementing Multilevel Instruction approach. Likewise, this didactic unit entitled “We are what we eat” tries to boost student’s critical thinking towards today’s eating habits while enhancing their language skills. The unit is addressed to a group of students in the 4th year of the Compulsory Secondary Education within the Spanish educational system.
