CLIL: A LESSON PLAN

Abstract

[ES] ‘‘CLIL: A Lesson Plan’’ es un trabajo centrado en dos áreas de investigación: por una parte ofrece un estudio detallado del concepto de bilingüismo al tratar aspectos tales como el origen del término Content and Language Integrated Learning, definición y su proceso de implantación en Europa y España. Asimismo, compara el uso de CLIL con otros programas como CBLT y las escuelas de inmersión lingüística de Canadá. Además, analiza el proceso de implantación del bilingüismo en Castilla – La Mancha con las llamadas ‘‘secciones bilingües’’. En la segunda parte del trabajo, se ha elaborado una unidad didáctica para 4º de ESO en base a una metodología CLIL. El título de la unidad didáctica es ‘‘On the Factory Floor’’ y aborda La Revolución Industrial. Dicha unidad comprende ocho sesiones.

[EN] ‘‘CLIL: A Lesson Plan’’ is a two – fold research: on the one hand, it provides an in-depth study of Content and Language Integrated Learning including definition, origin, and implementing process in Europe and Spain. It also compares the concept of CLIL with other bilingual programmes such as CBLT (Content - Based Language Teaching) and Immersion Programmes in Canada. Furthermore, it describes how bilingual schools work in Castilla – La Mancha. On the other hand, the second part of this research focuses on the elaboration of a didactic unit for the last year of Compulsory Secondary Education in accordance with Content and Language Integrated Learning parameters. This didactic unit is based on The Industrial Revolution and it comprises eight lessons.
