DISEÑO Y FABRICACIÓN DE UN MOLDE TIPO “RAPID TOOLING” PARA LA INYECCIÓN DE TERMOPLÁSTICOS

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un molde del tipo “Rapid Tooling” o prototipado rápido mediante impresión 3D para la inyección de termoplásticos y analizar la viabilidad de este tipo de moldes de cara a su utilización en el sector industrial. Para ello se ha diseñado un molde de inyección sencillo de acuerdo a las características del centro de termoformado de las instalaciones de la Universidad de Jaén, se ha realizado una búsqueda de materiales para impresión 3D que consigan aguantar y mantener su forma y características bajo las condiciones de temperatura a la que se ha efectuado el proceso de inyección de termoplásticos, se ha simulado el proceso de inyección en softwares especializados en moldes de inyección, y por último se ha probado el molde en el centro de termoformado y se ha comprobado su viabilidad.

The aim of this work is to make a "Rapid Tooling" type mold or rapid prototyping by 3D printing for the injection of thermoplastics and to analyze the feasibility of this type of mold for its use in the industrial sector. For this purpose, a simple injection mold has been designed according to the characteristics of the thermoforming center of the facilities of the University of Jaén, a search for 3D printing materials that can withstand and maintain their shape and characteristics under the temperature conditions at which the thermoplastic injection process has been carried out, the injection process has been simulated in software specialized in injection molds, and finally the mold has been tested in the thermoforming center and its viability has been verified.
