La Batalla de Bailén (19 de Julio de 1808): Estado de la cuestión y análisis de una cartografía histórica.

Abstract

La Batalla de Bailén es un evento que servirá de bisagra para el paso de la Edad Moderna hacia la Edad Contemporánea debido a la importancia que representa para el ámbito de la historiografía española. Situada en el contexto histórico de la Guerra de Independencia Española, en contra la tiranía y afán expansivito que Napoleón pretendía extender por toda Europa. La pericia militar española provocará esta ansiada victoria. Este trabajo tiene una doble vertiente metodológica, por un lado, se procede a la elaboración de un estado de la cuestión a través de la revisión bibliográfica más actualizada sobre esta temática, a fin de tener una visual general lo más completa posible para abordar la segunda parte a la que se orienta este trabajo, cuya finalidad es la interpretación de un documento histórico de tipo cartográfico a través de las herramientas incluidas dentro de los sistemas de información geográfica.

The Battle of Bailen is an event that will serve as a hinge for the passage from the Modern Age to the Contemporary Age due to the importance it represents for the field of Spanish historiography. Situated in the historical context of the Spanish War of Independence, against the tyranny and expansive desire that Napoleon wanted to spread throughout Europe. Spanish military expertise will bring about this long-awaited victory. This work has a double methodological aspect, on the one hand, it proceeds to the elaboration of a state of the question through the most up-to-date bibliographic review on this subject, in order to have a general visual as complete as possible to address the second part to which this work is oriented, whose purpose is the interpretation of a historical document of a cartographic type through the tools included within the geographic information systems.
