readers, Animal Farm.
[EN]This MA dissertation thesis (henceforth TFM) examines the role of literature in the EFL classroom. To this effect, we have divided the project into two sections. The first one corresponds to the theoretical framework: here we will develop all the theoretical aspects involved in the features related to teaching English through literature. The second section involves a practical approach based on the development of a whole lesson plan. This LP exploits a graded reading as a means to foster a diversity of linguistic and cultural aspects. The Graded Reader employed is George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm. Both sections of this TFM are intimately connected since the study of the theory allows us to acquire the necessary knowledge to implement the LP and, as a consequence, be able to put it into practice in a real classroom Key words: literature, EFL classroom, graded readers, Animal Farm.
